All the surrounding mountain valleys are famed among the lovers of this soft form of winter sport.
Contact our hiking guide Gerhard and he will accompany you on 2 or 3 days a week through quiet forests, across snow-covered mountain pastures, maybe on useful snowshoes. Tobogganing
If you want to enjoy the snow in an alternative way, then you only have to choose among the many tobogganing runs – some shorter, some longer – and for all levels of expertise: the fun will be like when you were a child! Before or after a turbulent descent you can check out one of the cosy mountain huts for a refreshment.
Italy’s longest tobogganing run with snow cannons: 9.6 kilometres from the Rosskopf to Vipiteno
If you would like to enjoy the snow staying seated on a sleigh, then the Rosskopf/Monte Cavallo is just right for you! This mountain offers family fun for everybody with its amazing 9.6 kilometres of piste – the longest in South Tyrol! Starting from last winter, you can go tobogganing until the spring because the snow cannons assure snow at any time and there is also night illumination. You don’t even have to walk uphill: just take the gondola lift and in 15 minutes you are at the top station, where you can hop right onto your sleigh and descend. The sleighs can be rented at the ski rental at the valley station of the gondola lift. NEW: On Tuesdays and saturday nights the tobogganing run is open and illuminated until 12 pm. On these days the gondola lift operates also from 7 pm to 9 pm.
All Rosskopf day tickets or multiple-day tickets as well as the tobogganing day ticket are valid also for night-time tobogganing. Moreover, they are also valid for a free entrance to the ice-hockey matches of the Broncos, A2 league (regular + quarter finals).
